***Championship Saturday Changes*** 9v9 time & field location changes; 11v11 time changes only

As we arrive at the midpoint of our Spring 2022 MNJYSA season, please read below to learn details about our Spring 2022 playoff rules and formats.

1. Playoffs are open to flight winners or runners up (See 1b.) competing in flight 1 through flight 4 in 9v9 and 11v11 divisions only (U11-U19). U16 Girls & U19 Girls Divisions will not compete in Spring 2022 Playoffs, as there is only one flight in each division with no viable playoff options.

All other divisions...

For divisions with only 2 flights (U13 Girls & U14 Girls), a championship game will be played on Championship Saturday, 6/18 between flight 1 and flight 2 representatives.

For divisions with 3 flights (U11 Girls & U12 Girls), a single semifinal game between flight 2 and flight 3 representatives will be played during the week of 6/13 (no later than 6/16), and a championship game between the winner of that game and the flight 1 representative will be held on Championship Saturday, 6/18.

For divisions with 4 flights (U11 Boys, U12 Boys, U13 Boys & U14 Boys), two semifinal games between flight 1 and flight 4 representatives, and between flight 2 and flight 3 representatives will be played during the week of 6/13 (no later than 6/16), and a championship game between the winners of those two games will be held on Championship Saturday, 6/18.

For U15 Boys (3 flights) and U16 Boys (1 flight),  two semifinal games between U16B flight 1 and U15B flight 3 representatives, and between U15B flight 1 and U15B flight 2 representatives will be played during the week of 6/13 (no later than 6/16), and a championship game between the winners of those two games will be held on Championship Saturday, 6/18.

For U18 Boys and U19 Boys, division representatives will face off in the final game on Championship Saturday, 6/18.

1a. Potential flight winners who decline to participate in the playoffs due to other commitments MUST notify their RVP AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

1b. If flight winner declines to participate, flight runner-up will be offered the opportunity to represent their flight in the playoffs. If both flight winner and runner-up decline to represent their flight in the playoffs, their semifinal opponent will receive a bye (if applicable), and if only 2 flights in division, participating flight representative will be declared the division winner.

1c. Higher flighted team has privilege of hosting semifinal games, but if this becomes an impediment to playing semifinal by 6/16 then teams should play at field of lower flighted team.

1d. If flight winner/runner-up results are locked-in prior to the end of the regular season, playoff opponents may play semifinal games prior to the week of 6/13 at their mutual convenience, but MUST receive permission to do so in advance from MNJYSA Playoff Committee.
