2024 Spring Playoffs

As we do every year, MNJYSA will hold Divisional Playoffs at the conclusion of the Spring season. Only Flights 1 through 4 are eligible to participate (U11B thru U16B, and U11G thru U13G divisions only---no playoffs for U17B & U19B, or U14G, U15G, U17G & U19G).

TO PROPERLY DETERMINE FLIGHT WINNERS, ALL SCORES MUST BE REPORTED BY MONDAY, JUNE 10TH AT 12:00 NOON. If scores are reported sooner, and flight winners can be determined earlier, MNJ will notify opponents in case they are able to play sooner than Tuesday the 11th, Wednesday the 12th or Thursday the 13th.

Semifinal Rules

Division semifinal matchups will be posted no later than Tuesday, morning, June 11th. Division semifinal matches must be played by Thursday, June 13th. Higher flighted teams will host  division semifinal matches (for divisions with 4 flights: Flt 1 hosts Flt 4 & Flt 2 hosts Flt 3, for U15B: Flt 2 hosts Flt 3; no semifinals for U16B or U13G as there are only 2 flights in these divisions). ALL division semifinal matches will be 30 minute halves and 5 minute halftime. If teams are tied after regulation, two 5 minute overtime periods will be played with golden goal, followed by FIFA Kicks from the mark, if necessary. Semifinalists will split the referee fees, which will conform to the regular, age-specific referee fee structure used during the season.

Championship Rules

All Championship matches will take place on Saturday, June 15th. U11B/G (9am), U12B/G (10:30am) and U13G (12pm) matches will be played at Middlebush Park in Franklin Township. U13B (9am), U14B (10:30am), U15B (12:30pm) and U16B (2:30pm) matches will be played at Heavenly Farms Park in East Brunswick. ALL Championship round matches will adhere to regular, division-specific durations (U11/U12: 30-minute halves, U13/U14: 35-minute halves, and U15/U16: 40-minute halves). If teams are tied after regulation, two 5 minute overtime periods will be played with golden goal, followed by FIFA Kicks from the mark, if necessary. MNJYSA will cover referee fees for all championship matches.

Club passes will be honored for playoff participation, as well as Secondary Permission Player Forms approved by MNJ President during the 2023/24 soccer year.

If your team has a chance to win its flight but is unwilling or unable to participate in BOTH ROUNDS of the playoffs, you MUST notify your RVP in advance. Flight runner-up will be given an opportunity to participate in Spring Playoffs if Flight Winner is unwilling or unable. If neither team is willing or able to participate, brackets will be adjusted accordingly.
